According to the scriptures, one way God reveals himself to us is through what has been made. Psalms 19:1-2 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.”
And, according to Romans 1:20: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
Join the Applause is simply a catalyst to encourage people to learn more about God through what has been created.
The intent behind “Join the Applause” is to remind us all to actively engage in all that has been created around us… to pause, ponder, appreciate and respond appropriately to our God, the Creator of it all.
When we see life through this lens our sense of “awe” goes up… our sense of “wonder” goes up… followed by a sense of gratitude. And a sense of gratitude can change how we react and respond to everything.
When we understand that our Creator must be greater and more powerful than all that has been created, then we begin to believe in a bigger God. Our level of faith and hope for the future begins to increase.
The act of taking the initiative to respond with a sense of gratitude is the completion of a natural cycle. It is very much like giving a standing ovation to an artist that has just delivered an awe-inspiring performance. It just feels right! The artist obviously deserves the ovation, but there is also a very tangible benefit that we feel when we do.
CS Lewis said it this way “our joy is not complete until our praise is expressed!”
We encourage you to join us by “joining the applause” everyday.
And, we would love for you to participate in our first Applause Day, the last Saturday in June (25.06.11). We are asking people from as many countries as possible to enjoy the day, and as the sun sets, respond appropriately by Joining the Applause. Don’t forget to take a picture and upload it to our website. Let’s celebrate the applause together.
Psalm 65:8 says, “The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.”
